Card Tech, a company devoted to the innovation and security of mobile devices, was created following the 2005 edition of Start Cup, a business plan competition promoted by the University of Studies in Udine and the Techno Seed project, an agency which fosters enterprise and is managed by Friuli Innovazione (research & technology transfer center).
Since 2006, the first functioning prototypes have been manufactured in collaboration with national and international companies thanks to the support of the regional law 4/2005 of Friuli Venezia Giulia and to the Techno Seed project. In 2007, the research continued in the new work premises, a technological office in the heart of Udine. A fruitful period in terms of partnerships began. As well as the road-tested relationship with the University of Studies in Udine, Card Tech set-up relationships with first order national groups such as AREA Science Park Trieste, the Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia (the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia) and the Polo Tecnologico Pordenone (Technological Centre of Pordenone).
In 2008, with the objective of optimising the workflow, a research and development team was dedicated for every family of products.
In the subsequent months, Card Tech continued to strengthen its technical and business staff. It was during this period that the start-up was the object of great curiosity on the part of entrepreneurial-scientific world, with numerous publications and articles relating to the project.
In 2009, a new branch was launched in Beirut, Lebanon, which was responsible for coordinating the business relationships in the Middle Eastern region.
